— Research has shown that genius is possible for even those who have been labeled as learning impaired. Indeed, the Pygmalion factor demonstrated this when troubled children were given to a teacher as specially gifted children. A follow up showed that when the teacher believed the child was precocious instead of learning impaired, the child not only improved behaviorally but also showed a vast increase in their learning ability.

All too often we are told things that inhibit our belief in our abilities. Perhaps we are called stupid, dumb, dense and the like. It may be about a subject like math or just in general, and this information then can become our own self-fulfilling prophecy.
